How to convert Miro boards to Mural

My company has recently made the switch from Miro to Mural. We have years of detailed Miro boards, many of which need to be converted to Mural, but I have not found a good way to make this happen (aside from meticulously re-creating everything manually).
What is the best method to go about this?

Hi @MollyT + team-
Hang in there! Short answer, I can't at the moment, but I am meeting/working with Muralistas each week to see what we can do.
I know that isn't the response you'd like to hear at the moment, but this is a larger need that we're listening to- I want to give the right response before giving the rushed one. π We hear you! I'll continue updating you as I receive additional information. -M

Hi @MJB @MaartenKorz @MollyT, there isn't a current workaround for this, but as @Redmera has requested, I'm working on a few things behind the scenes to see if we can create practical how-to information for those of you who are interested! Will continue to keep you posted; thank you all for checking in

Hi @MeghanatMURAL, I'm hoping to move some dashboards from Miro to Mural and was wondering if you could please provide some guidance on how best to do this? Many thanks

We directly started with Mural. However, one of our customer has a huge Miro board we need to move one time.
Is there any easy way to do this? This discussion seems to be open.

This is largely not supported by MURAL features, but I'm happy to follow up with resources and support by email.

Hello i have the exact same question. (Sorry for the multiple posts.) @MeghanatMURAL can we discuss your solution as well?

@MeghanatMURALΒ same question here also. We are moving a bunch of teams off Miro (finally!) onto Mural and would like to find a way to retain some of the Miro content. Thanks!

Hi @meat99 + @motterson: I'm working on this one, but I won't leave you hanging! The short answer: this is a pretty manual process at the moment (as I'm sure you're experiencing), but understanding the volume/content of the boards may help us level set things a little better.

Same here, dozens of boards to be migrated to a client. How best to do this? Any pointers, tips and tricks would be very much appreciated.

Hi @mariaeugenia + @KCarr! There currently is no workaround to support this. I recommend working through an Account Manager to push these needs up as a priority for your teams.

Any progress on this?
A google search did bring up a 3rd party that offers to convert Miro boards to Mural...
Aside: changing the Miro's extension from .rtb (real-time-board, its former name) to .zip allows you to view all the files Miro stores about a board. So perhaps that 3rd party tool just reverse-engineered the data in .rtb/.zip files...

Hi folks. Is there any guide to the manual process for converting the boards? I really only have a handful of boards that need converting. Appreciate any guidance!

Hi @Meghan and @Community
One of our clients has decided to adopt Mural as their main whiteboarding tool, which is a very good news, but they have a lot of boards built in Miro.
Is there any way to migrate those Miro boards into Mural? Can you provide any support on this or any advice on how to proceed? Hope you can! Thank you!

Holy thread resurrection batman!
Sorry to be late to the party, but I've been given a bunch of Miro templates (.rtb files) by a vendor, was hoping there's a way to import into Mural? Or do I need to go back to the vendor and demand a discount?
Cheers!
