Challenges adding sticky notes

I have some areas within areas that I cannot double-click on to add a sticky note. I can double-click outside of the area and drag a note, but clicking in the area gets me no stickies. I have other areas of my mural where it works, yet many do not. Note that these areas are locked. Any ideas?

    Hi Chris! When double clicking in the area that is locked, what happens when you try to add a sticky there?
