Make lines easier to resize once drawn

When I click on a line, that is independent i.e. not joining two shapes together, once drawn it seems impossible to resize it. So usually I have to delete it and try again, more accurately for length this time. Instead I expect that when I click on a line, some dots appear that allow me to resize it, similar to what happens when I click on a post it note.
