💡Feature Idea: #tags on notes
I am a design thinker and when assimilating research insights on notes it would be useful to be able to attach #tags to the notes and be able to search using these #tags. This helps with an affinity mapping process. Miro has this feature and is one reason I am looking at migrating to Miro. Mural is big in the design thinking community so I assess that this feature could be used widely.

Absolutely agree - it's on my wishlist, too.

Hello @graham_smale and @manuel (and anyone else who is interested in not having to create manual workarounds because we don't have tags...yet)
Good news - I'm looking for feedback on our upcoming Tags functionality - it would be about an hour of your time and the chance to ensure we are creating the best possible experience for you!
Please send me an DM or comment below, if this sounds compelling and we'll get this set up
Cheers! 😎

Yes plz steal this from Miro. No shame, they didn't invent tags either ;)

"Upcoming tags functionality" is great news :-)

tags would be a big advantage

Having recently migrated from Miro, I definitely miss this feature. We had a project roadmap on Miro and we used tags to tag different disciplines/teams involved in each task.

Oh great use case for tags. We know MURAL is working on this feature and I am quite sure, we'll see something great there soon even if it might take some more months until then.

I imagine it would be cool to be able to add tags to sticky notes and then being able to automatically re-arrange stickies by tags, e.g. to automatically group them by their tags like this:

Agreed, this is a key feature that makes us consider migrating to Miro. It's a bit table stakes for research synthesis.

Yes very much in favor of tags! If it helps, I'll explain how it would help us:
My team and I sometimes have to individually interview various people across a company about the same topic/project we're designing with them, and we document all of the points they make on sticky notes under each interviewee's name.
But then once we've left the interviewees, we take all of the notes from the different interviews and cluster and sort according to the part of the project each point is about. But often we need clarification on a certain point and need to go back to the interviewee. With tags, it would be easy to see who made the point to go back to that person. (It's also good for fitting in Mural with project management documentation practices, especially as you'll find in larger organizations.)
At the moment, it's not so easy. The workaround is that we make a duplicate of the notes organized under each interviewee's name. We leave the originals alone, and we do our clustering with the duplicates. And if we need to trace a note back, we do a text search, and see where there is another note with the same exact words. But that's more work than simple having tags.
Thanks for considering this useful feature. As has been stated by others here, we've been toying with the idea of switching to Miro because of this feature would be so useful for us.

Hey everyone, we are already testing and using tags internally at MURAL. They will be available really really soon.

I like "really really soon" ;-)

Hello, we've reached out to all who commented in this thread to join a preview of tags. If you would like more information, please respond here or send me a message! 😃

Hello, I would be interested in being included in this preview of tags as well.

Hello, also following on this topic. Our team manage a lot of insights and informations at the same time and to cluster, declutter and gather without tags makes it difficult!
We are also on a path to make our board more accessible and tagging (text instead of colors) is a great way I read somewhere else in online white board ;)
@drewan Would be super interested in being part of a Beta testing and-or being updated on the progress of this project.

Hello everybody! We're excited to share that Tags have been released for all members today!! 🎉

Thanks for making this feature! I discovered it yesterday, and found a great use for it. But I went to ask support to check if there was a max amount of tags you can make in one mural, and that seems to be 50. Could you please increase that to something significantly higher? (Also the max of 20 per note can be limiting in some cases)
My use case is that I want to track our projects, and I use tags to mark who works on the projects. The 50 limit means I won't be able to create tags for all the people I want. And the 20 limit might be hit if I want to track a big project with many involved (already had one with 17). I'm sure those limits are not because of technical reasons?
(Should I post this as a separate request here? Update: made one here https://community.mural.co/discussion/1186/increase-limits-on-amount-of-tags/p1?new=1)

@niels Thank you very much for checking tags out and providing this valuable feedback. I've shared this with the team. Creating a separate request for each enhancement request is the best way to help us understand the impact to members, and their workflows.
Something we do to help bring new capabilities to members as soon as possible is to break down problems. Although a slight increase to the limits mentioned may not appear like added complexity- these types of changes can dramatically increase the scenarios that need to be tested and other considerations.
Thanks again for providing this feedback. In the future, we hope to increase Mural's tagging capabilities even more!

If you haven't been using Find 🔍 , you need to check this out!!! @Gino shows how Find can be used to unleash even more power from Tags 🏷:

Still wishing for the auto arrange feature to re-arrange by tags ;-)
