💡 Template Idea: Doughnut Economics Templates
My good friend @Christina recently introduced me to DEAL (Doughnut Economics Action Lab, https://doughnuteconomics.org/projects ). DEAL has been set up as a forum for all companies, teachers, governments, activists, and anybody else interested in implementing Kate Raworth's https://doughnuteconomics.org/ concepts in ways that are tailored to the specific realities of a locality to share ideas and inspiration with each other, through what she calls projects, stories and tools (https://doughnuteconomics.org/about-tools).
Since the introduction, I've fallen in love this content. Could MURAL partner with Kate as a Playmaker and offer these templates to the MURAL community?
It would be wonderful to include Doughnut Economics templates (and/or Frameworks) in MURAL.

Ward I am so glad to have awakened your interest in Doughnut Economics as seen in your recent Feature Idea: Doughnut Economics Templates post.
It was great to introduce the seven proposed paradigm shifts to my classes using MURAL last semester.
Below are links to the ones I designed for my university Ethics course, in the hopes they inspire many additional takes on the material. They can be used in a plethora of other subjects too, from Design Thinking to Economics to English to Marketing to SmartCity Management, for example.
I opened the semester with one mural to get them thinking about the big-picture ideas in terms of what is important to THEM before mentioning any of Kate Raworth's proposals. Each group gets a question to mull over together, then they present and discuss their ideas to the others. This is key as it was especially interesting throughout the semester for students to compare their own priorities, values and propositions with hers, since each starting question is actually connected to one of her "7 Ways to Think Like A 21st-Century Economist." Here is the conversation starter:
Then there is one mural per shift, each touching on one aspect, main or tangental, from that chapter. There are many other ways to do these and lots of other topics in each segment you can choose - this is really just scratching the surface! My goal was to introduce both the Big Picture ideas and provide ways for students to reflect on and create something with concrete examples at the same time. Here they are:
DoEco 1: Change the Goal: https://app.mural.co/invitation/mural/universityofeurope4294/1627568224711?sender=u2c88bef0badf9627d4357761&key=8f88c51c-8e9a-479e-bbd7-a21089b574af which goes with this one for reference: https://app.mural.co/invitation/mural/universityofeurope4294/1627568041169?sender=u2c88bef0badf9627d4357761&key=0647f985-0775-4c83-80f6-1dc9d000ebfb
DoEco 2: See the Big Picture: First give them this one, again with no knowledge from the book yet: https://app.mural.co/invitation/mural/universityofeurope4294/1627568140441?sender=u2c88bef0badf9627d4357761&key=5c40c2a9-dd43-42a9-826b-46004e377173 and then after discussing and providing some more info on the concept, this one: https://app.mural.co/invitation/mural/universityofeurope4294/1627568064944?sender=u2c88bef0badf9627d4357761&key=4c90dff9-6ebd-4bb7-b758-837e94ab0c80
DoEco 3: Nurture Human Nature: I made 2 for this one, one really based on the book and one everyday application: https://app.mural.co/invitation/mural/universityofeurope4294/1627568387202?sender=u2c88bef0badf9627d4357761&key=5e1fdc8d-b712-4dbd-9d8e-4a74a444a63a and https://app.mural.co/invitation/mural/universityofeurope4294/1627568283182?sender=u2c88bef0badf9627d4357761&key=8c343593-448c-4616-b51b-7f21d1f9e5f4 (with the cutest picture ever, Rawpixel so rocks!!!)
DoEco 4: Get Savvy with Systems: As I sit here between floods and flames, this one may be the most important one of all to start people thinking about how things are connected and how our actions matter: https://app.mural.co/invitation/mural/universityofeurope4294/1627568355805?sender=u2c88bef0badf9627d4357761&key=081cf4eb-9663-4e10-9a33-980afc587b0d
DoEco 5: Design to Distribute - here there are also 2, one relating to teams: https://app.mural.co/invitation/mural/universityofeurope4294/1627568092467?sender=u2c88bef0badf9627d4357761&key=5a64cc5e-0510-4d96-9d56-97e7bd60b251 and with relation to alternative currencies: https://app.mural.co/invitation/mural/universityofeurope4294/1627568329623?sender=u2c88bef0badf9627d4357761&key=364a019a-1e6b-4fff-a7f3-2853df444a4e
DoEco 6: Create to Regenerate: Actually this one is very involved and I conducted a whole seminar about it, but in the meantime it is one you can invite your students to create one on from scratch now that they have experience with the above ones!
DoEco 7: Be Agnostic about Growth: https://app.mural.co/invitation/mural/universityofeurope4294/1627568170282?sender=u2c88bef0badf9627d4357761&key=734263f3-f943-44be-b81b-cced79c07093
As you can see, articles related to the ideas are often used, and you can change them, updating the specifics as time passes and to suit your personal proclivities, while still using other aspects of the template.
Finally, here are several review options - my students were able to choose which to use for their exam preparation:
https://app.mural.co/invitation/mural/universityofeurope4294/1627568455390?sender=u2c88bef0badf9627d4357761&key=ac7023a1-1814-46bc-8a63-7c049b202bef (using the MURAL study template - and some even realized the questions hark back to their first assignment!)
https://app.mural.co/invitation/mural/universityofeurope4294/1627568414044?sender=u2c88bef0badf9627d4357761&key=4a61f38d-ffa4-4832-b103-dede92a3f9df (MURAL mind mapping madness!)
https://app.mural.co/invitation/mural/universityofeurope4294/1627568116334?sender=u2c88bef0badf9627d4357761&key=efd076d1-4643-4c59-85db-0f0a09d1b192 using one of the many toolbox options provided by Kate Raworth at https://doughnuteconomics.org/, my inspiration to create all of these.
As the semester progressed, I showcased their co-creations here (view only): https://app.mural.co/t/universityofeurope4294/m/universityofeurope4294/1627568020012/ce5a4f4cd914634b2d1349dbb55bf780a55471fd?sender=u2c88bef0badf9627d4357761 while tying each one to one key slide with which I had started my coverage of each topic. Seeing their work highlighted like this on one Mural (I exported the finished murals to my email, saved them in my computer, then put the images in here) really helped them see the whole semester at a glance, while hopefully giving them a sense of pride and co-ownership - of community!
I hope these guys get lots of ideas percolating, and would love to hear them!
