Love love love a lot about Problem Prioritization by New Hair. I need a little bit of help though. What are the four quadrants on the first map supposed to capture?

TIA!

Hi Linds! Typically the sailboat quadrants are something like this, there are a few variations out there in the world:

    • Wind: Things that make the team happy and/or things that help the team and propel them forward to reach their goal.
    • Anchors: Everything that slows the team down on their journey (aka impediments that are holding them back).
    • Icebergs: Obstacles and risks that could stop the team getting to where it needs to be. (Some teams find this category really helpful in helping identify things that are not an issue right now but can become an issue later.)
    • Harbor: I usually see this as the island or the rock - but harbor works too! It's the goal, the place the team is trying to get to.

New haircut has some nice info in their website about this particular toolkit. https://www.newhaircut.com/problem-framing-toolkit

  • @AshleyB, this is so helpful! I had the same question, and my quick google search didn't turn it up. I didn't think to search "new hair cut."
