💡Feature Idea: Bulk create formatted sticky notes from csv

1. What you want to be able to do in MURAL

I want to bulk create formatted (size, color, text) sticky notes from a csv file.

2. The problem you are trying to solve

I have a large amount of data to share for a planning session. We use different color stickys to designate the teams. It is a lot of manual copy & paste work to bring in and format each team's items (30+ per team, 5+ teams).

3. Why this helps everyone (or many people)

This feature will allow facilitators to collect the data from each team in a spreadsheet, assign size and color in separate columns, then create all of the sticky notes needs by importing the csv to the board. The MURAL already allows me to export data to a csv file that includes the sticky details, I want to have the ability to return the data.

Thank you

When you have a file in a text editor or in Excel, you can select the text and copy it to the clipboard (CTRL+C) and then go to MURAL and paste it (CTRL+V). The text will automatically be converted into separate sticky notes (e.g. by Excel cells and line breaks). Does that help you already or what would be helpful for you?

  • This feature was recently removed by Mural and I am so sad! Please remove the 140 character limit and let us copy/paste whatever data we need to into individual sticky's! I cannot do my work without this ability.

    😫😓🙁

  • We have a process where we first export the sticky notes from our board. Then we do our magic and want to import the csv-file with modified data to the Mural board. Anybody else wanting to do the same?
